You and Yours
The YOURS concept originated in 1997. We could say that it grew out of a brilliantly devised business plan. We could say that it was the brainchild of a consortium of highly-paid consultants. The honest truth is that the concept was... well, YOURS.
Our beginnings were in a discount store in Felixstowe where our sized 14-32 fashions continually sold out - leaving just the smaller sizes. When an opportunity arose to take a store, we decided to open a shop that catered specifically to the plus-size woman; a shop that would provide an alternative to existing High Street retailers. The store, then called Size Up, was an immediate success. And you wanted more.
What happened next?
You told us that you wanted real womenswear. Stylish fashions that fit your curves, clothing that makes you feel sexy and confident. You asked for party-wear, holiday-wear, underwear. When you ask, we listen. Last year, we sold over 1.4 million items, and each of those items came with a tag on the back saying, "Tell us what you think." Now we sell three different trouser leg lengths, and our petite section is coming soon - to cater to those of us that are a little shorter.
Am I really that important to Yours?
In a word, yes. Yours couldn't exist without you. We want to hear what you have to say, we want your suggestions, and we want to know what you want from Yours. Send us your letters, send us your emails and tell our staff what you think.
When we need to recruit new staff, we'd rather advertise positions available by putting a sign in our shop window. Why? Quite simply, we'd rather employ our customers because we feel that if you wear our products and believe in our products, you can sell our products. We also believe that if you spend money with us, why not earn money from us.
What does the future hold for Yours?
As long as your demand and our ambition continues to grow, there are no limits!
